A welcome magpie

Someone pointed me in the direction of a very neat new app from Conran called “Magpie”. It’s a fantastically simple on-the-move curation tool which allows you to collect pictures and notes (along with movies and sounds), organise and then email them as a PDF which contains times, dates and locations.

I downloaded it yesterday but just gave it a workout and I’m impressed and can see a number of uses – it certainly is a good way of collating random creativity into something which is useful at a later date. Or as Sir Terrance Conran puts it… “I was very lucky to have been taught by a wonderful sculptor called Eduardo Paolozzi and he said to me ‘Collect as many ideas into your brain as you possibly can, go round museums, go round markets, go round shops. Pick up all these ideas and store them away, because you’ll be able to use them later in your life’.”

It’s also free……although so is Google+ and I’m not really getting a grasp of that !
