Last week in NYC I picked up REWORK by Jason Fried & David Heinemeier Hansson. Despite the fact that it has an endorsement by Seth Godin on the front (I once spent an underwhelming hour listen to him speak) you could tell it would be one of those books which shakes you by the scruff of the neck.

And it was. It’s only a few hours of read – tightly and provocatively written.

Here are some of my favourites:

‘Workaholics aren’t heroes. They don’t save the day, they just use it up. The real hero is already home because they figured out a faster way to get things done.’

‘Whenever you can, swap “Let’s think about it” for “Let’s decide on it.” Commit to making decisions. Don’t wait for the perfect solution. Decide and move forward.’

When you read their views on meetings, interruptions and even the humble Sharpie you’ll want to hug them both.

The business world probably falls into one of two groups : Rework haters or Rework believers. Trying to go down the middle road would be a mistake.

Get the book and decide which path you want to follow !

PS Click through to Reworks site, some of the films are priceless – especially ‘conference call’ !
