This week I’m up in Scotland looking after a post-op relative and keeping on top of work remotely. In between those primary aims I am managing to snatch a longer read than usual of the broadsheets. Today Times newspaper had a great opinion piece by Ben Macintyre on deception. Primarily about wartime deception he introduces the concept of “yesmanship” which we’ve all seen at some stage in our careers in the workplace.
That failure to stand up and be counted, preferring to slink behind a ‘leader’s’ viewpoint. No debate, just following.
It’s worth a read and perhaps a little look at how we all behave.
