One of those stories which you just could not make up has made the news. An elderly couple on holiday in Italy ended up in CARPI which is 400 miles away from their intended destination CAPRI.
They had made a typo when entering the name into the hire car’s sat-nav. It was only when they arrived and asked for directions to the Blue Grotto that all became clear.
It’s amusing up to a point but also worrying. They trusted the sat-nav implicitly whilst ignoring every other piece of intelligence outside the car. Not even considering that Capri is an island !
Technology needs to be balanced with other stimulus.
